IT'S A GIRL!!! Penelope Jacqueline Remke, 8lbs and 21 inches (both exactly), was born at 1:56pm on Friday, September 16th. She was born at home (as planned) after 33 hours of unmedicated labor with the help of three Midwives, one Doula, two doggies (yep, they were around for the labor and birth), and her father. We are so very thankful for the safe and healthy arrival of our sweet girl. Meet the proud parents...

And baby's head appears to now be engaged and baby appears to have dropped. I had thought from the get-go that this little one was going to make us wait until the end of the month to meet it, so it's hard for me to wrap my mind around the idea that it could come any day now. I'm sure looking forward to getting my feet and ankles back down to normal size. I feel that if it wasn't for that, I'd be able to do so much more. As is, however, I have to make a conscious effort to get off my feet, and I hate that. I keep reminding myself to relish this time and appreciate all the activities that will become harder once the little one is here, such as reading, sleeping, and running errands. ;) And here's the ultrasound photo from our visit on 4/21 (20 weeks). Yep, he or she is waving at you. ;)

Additionally, please look below for what we are calling the 'GO GREEN REGISTRY' I believe strongly in saving both money & the environment, and I've come to find that buying some baby stuff brand new is a waste of both when there is really great gently used items out there.
